Our annual Remodelers Workshop, held this year in conjunction with the ProBuild Show, drew some 50 builders and remodelers from around the state. The April 29th event at Soaring Eagle Casino offered wonderful professional development sessions throughout the day. As always, the ProBuild Show was huge, informative and fun. If you are in the remodeling sector, plan to attend a future event of ours. In addition to meeting your peers, you learn how to better grow your business, make more profit, work safely and build smarter.
The EPA LRRP rule is still in the news. The re-certification deadline of March 31, 2016 has passed so now tradesmen and contractors must complete an EPA-accredited renovator training course to get certified once again. We’re hearing of investigations, enforcement and severe fines being levied against Michigan contractors. Don’t be a statistic—get certified and work safe. Check your local HBA association education calendars for training sessions near you. For more information, nahb.org>search> lead paint.
Several Michigan Remodelers Council members are leaders at the National level and are always great resources for information. Developments on EPA LRRP Rule and Storm Water Compliance in addition to the OSHA Silica Dust Rule and Fall Protection Standards are of critical importance to you, your customers and workers. If you need more information download the NAHB Advocacy App for the latest updates.
NAHB Remodelers is surveying its Council members and comparing sales, profit, years in business and company size to evaluate the benefits Council membership has on the bottom lines and longevity of HBA
companies. The preliminary results are that companies who are active in their Remodelers Councils have higher sales, greater profit and business longevity than general members of the HBA. See what the Council can do for you and your business.
This special interest council membership will set you apart in your market and offer your business new tools to grow and succeed. Contact me or your local EO for information on
