The National Association of Home Builders Remodelers (NAHBR) staff and leadership continue to lead the charge challenging standards, capitalizing on vital relationships with key decision-makers in DC like OSHA, EPA, OMB, HUD and Congress.
NAHBR remains the authority on the Lead Paint issue and has now weighed in heavily on the Waters of the US and National Flood Insurance Program. In many cases, these new rules impact a homeowner’s ability to build an addition or remodel, limiting the usability of their land, decreasing property values, increasing permit times and fees and hurting a sector of our industry. Natural disasters like Hurricanes Harvey and Irma will, no doubt, change the dialog somewhat but NAHBR won’t be backing down from its sensible regulations position.

NAHB Remodelers recently made calls to every local council chair across the country, yielding information that can be shared across all local associations and councils. Michigan councils are sustaining their membership and were challenged to grow their council memberships in 2018 and were given best practices successful council events, education and growing membership.
Remodelers council members should visit nahb.org/trending/
