the fireplace in the great room. HBA or Monroe County has been a great help with our program.
I could not have done this without the support of my Directors Bill and Steve as well as Dr. Everly. Without them we would not be where we are today. I also have a great Board of Education that sees the need for great CTE classes. My students this year are great. They are always ready for the challenge. They listen and work very hard. It’s a good thing when an instructor can’t name a favorite student. They are all great. We have also had the great fortune in working with great companies such as Dennison Quarry in Monroe Township. They donated all of our stone needs for our project. United Way has been very generous with helping our program this year. Many other Companies have joined in and wanting to be a part of this build this year, Williams Insurance Agency, Scott Warnke, Great lakes Electric, Advanced Plumbing of Monroe, All Temp heating and cooling, Royalty Mooney & Moses.
I would also like to share our vision for the years to come. The home that we will build next year will be designed by one of our Monroe County High School students in a CAD and Architecture class. The winner of the design competition will be the home we will build next year. I also thought that our Business classes at Monroe High School could get involved. Our Business Instructors could teach lessons on figuring what the taxes would be for our home. They could also do a lesson on what a realtor does during the phase of selling a home. We could also have a design class come up with the color and material scheme of the house. This home build should be as much of a school wide build as well as community build. Were our home sits used to be the home of Town site elementary School? After it was demolished the land sat vacant. I envisioned that we build homes for our community by our community.
