In this issue of Builder Magazine we are identifying and honoring our 23 local association presidents across the state. These individuals volunteer countless hours of their time and strengthen our collective voice. In my experience, it is a president’s desire to give back to their local associations by sharing the things that made them successful. It is not uncommon to hear that they have found that there are more things to do than they expected but with that comes the satisfaction that they are able to guide the local and positively leave their fingerprint on what it becomes.
There are many things that a local president does. They are the face and spokesperson championing events and other causes for the local association. Their leadership guides their
board of directors as they help cast a vision and direction for the association. They also work with the EO to set agendas, monitor committee work, communicate with the membership and make sure that the organization is running smoothly.
When talking with fellow presidents or past presidents, most have shared that their experience also provided personal growth and satisfaction that helped their business. Much like with our own business, an association president is sharing a part of themselves, as they are leading, guiding, and mentoring.
Thank you presidents! I am proud to be on the Home Builders Association team with you. On behalf of the nearly 5,000 members across Michigan, please know you’re your work and dedication are greatly appreciated.
